“The widest possibilities for spiritual growth lie in the give-and-take of everyday relationships.”
EKNATH EASWARAN
(1910–1999)
We offer programs that address the issues and concerns of passage meditators in their late teens, 20s, and early 30s at our retreat house in Tomales, California. Details about our offerings are given below.
These weekend retreats are lively and intense – active and reflective. They offer ample time for fellowship with like-minded peers, walks on nearby Dillon Beach, and conversation over hearty vegetarian meals. Presented by longtime students of Easwaran, they will help you learn how to use passage meditation to:
Make important life choices Find deeper meaning in your work and relationships Build your life on a foundation in tune with your highest ideals Find your overriding purpose in life
The curriculum is shaped by the group – we will focus on the issues you are most interested in.
From young adults who recently attended one of these retreats:
“The BMCM is the best kept secret around and proved to be a something of spiritual renaissance for me. After learning about this, the last several months have been among the most rewarding of my life. The program has been a total game-changer for me. These tools have the power to affect every aspect of your life, no matter what you are interested in (relationships, education, politics, finance, entertainment, athletics, culture, world peace, or some combination of everything). There is nothing offbeat or weird about this!”
Here are some of the benefits I am currently experiencing:
I am able to focus increasingly better, concentrate fully on one person or one thing at a time I am more productive and efficient than I have ever been I have more sustained energy than I can ever remember I feel more balanced and grounded than ever before I am sleeping better at night than any other time in my life I am more present in every moment I am more giving I am more understanding and forgiving My memory is better I have less anxiety I am a better listener I am learning to stop overeating and overindulging in things, taking only what I need I am training my mind to be peaceful and quiet
“Just being with other young adults and seeing that they are out there trying to live the spiritual life brings such happiness and inspiration. I feel I have made deep connections this weekend, ones that could never have been possible without Easwaran’s teachings. Seeing other young adults on the path brings me hope, comfort, reassurance; but most importantly it fills my heart with joy.”
“I did not know how much I was starving for spiritual fellowship until I came to the young adults retreat. It is easier to commit to this path when I know how many others my own age are also doing this.”
Note: Retreats with a young adult section are like a normal weeklong retreat but always include a group of young adults.
