Whether you are nineteen or ninety, whether you live in Australia or Zimbabwe, you can be a part of this effort. Whatever your religious background or nationality or life circumstances, there is something you can do to change the world by changing yourself.
Starting July 11, 2009, we will offer the first of a series of anniversary video programs, called Quietly Changing the World, that chronicle the history of Sri Easwaran’s spiritual teaching work in the United States and the growth of the Blue Mountain Center of Meditation.
This first anniversary event, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Easwaran’s arrival in the United States, will take place here at www.easwaran.org/hope. The program will be a one-hour video presentation about the first years of Sri Easwaran’s spiritual teaching work in America, 1959 to 1962. Along with archival photos and previously unpublished excerpts from Easwaran’s audio and video recordings, the program will also feature interviews with Christine Easwaran and some of Easwaran’s close students.
We hope these events will become an occasion for all of us to rededicate ourselves to building the spiritual renaissance that Sri Easwaran longed to see in the world.
