“We all need joy, and we can all receive joy in only one way, by adding to the joy of others.”
EKNATH EASWARAN

If you would like to learn more about passage meditation or deepen your practice, our retreats will give you guidance, support, inspiration, and fellowship tailored to your needs.
The parking lot and entrance to the Blue Mountain Retreat House are located at 10 Church Street, Tomales, California 94971, about 55 miles north of San Francisco.
If you would like more information, please call us at 800.475.2369 or email us.
If you need to reach us after 5 p.m. on the day of the retreat, you may call the retreat house at 707.878.2359.
You’ll find our retreat house tucked at the end of a country lane in a small town in rural west Marin county.
A converted Queen Anne Victorian that was a bed-and-breakfast for many years, the house combines century-old charm with modern comforts and a warm, uplifting atmosphere.
Most rooms are shared with one other person. Couples always receive a private room. Linens and towels are provided.
The changeable weather on the coast can be sunny, foggy, windy, temperate, or even rainy, so bring appropriate warm and cool clothing, including something comfortable for meditation. Also bring walking shoes, a bathrobe, an alarm clock, and slippers or indoor shoes.
For the workshops, please bring a blank book or journal for taking notes, a few pens, the book God Makes The Rivers To Flow, if you have it, and a book bag to carry your materials.
Cell phone service is not available in Tomales and there is no access to the Internet. There is a telephone in the retreat house which you are welcome to use with a calling card. Cards are available for purchase at the retreat.
Friends and family can get messages to you by calling the Blue Mountain Center at 707.878.2369 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific Time Monday–Friday, or leaving a message at this number outside office hours.
The retreat house number should be used only for emergencies: 707.878.2359.

Tomales is located 55 miles north of San Francisco, and about 5 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean. Tomales can be reached by traveling north on Highway 101 from San Francisco, and then west through Petaluma. Highway 1 also leads directly through Tomales, and provides a very scenic route, but the road has lots of turns and so the journey takes at least 30 minutes longer. Our driving directions (which will offer you the most direct route), and maps, are located below.
